Unfinished Wet Kitchen, Ghee Bombay &Lemon Basil.


Salam!

Thanks singgah to 23 sisters and 1 bro:):) Tomorrow is Monday? I feel like Saturday has just started:):) To one special sister my doa is for you,you are special and strong In shaa Allah you ll be fine,you ll be protected, hugs hugs.

To yang mintak ajar nak buat asam pedas please see at the end of this entry okay.

So buat apa you all? Surely busy with all kind of things kan.Mine,Saturday is always fulled,morning started with belajar Iqraq with Ustazah at home,12.00pm piano class,lunch,groceries, dah malam.Sunday lah kalau nak buat sikit2 benda. Hari ni i kemas and arrange sikit2 my wet kitchen,dah  2 minggu dah tapi tak complete lagi.The wall has been completed actually, paint has dried up too but the door to the storage place,back gate and grilles have not been fixed yet. Kalau nak tunggu complete semua nak berkemas memang lambat lah nampaknya,so i dah tak tahan,this morning i asked  husband whether he can help me to fix the shelves to wall so that i can kemas sikit2.  Mr hubby  is so busy this week and few weeks to come but he took his time off from his laptop,put on his working short and helped me:) This time i took out all standing shelves/cabinet and table from the back area because of the limited space, i opted for wall mounted table and asked husband  fix simple shelves from Ikea.

This is the result but it is just 70% complete. At least i can do my cooking at the back now and the area is more spacious as i have less bulky things on the floor.


My spice rack and leftover tiles. I created the focal point at the wet kitchen wall by embedding these Spanish Tiles i bought from Jalan Ipoh. They were odd pieces which eventually will be thrown by the shop because no body will buy- they all look odd but i know it will look nice when i put it together. The Worker helped me to fix it to the wall and i like the result. The spice bottles are all recycled,they were from Kenduri kahwin (bekas gula2) and also my pesto bottles:)


Walaupun tak ada walk in pantry macam Chef@Home ( i still jealous at his walk in pantry) at least i have all my spices in place now.


Garam,asam,cili are all near to the stove- senang nak capai.Bekas asam garam yang gambar butterfly ni dah 10 tahun lebih hadiah kahwin diberi my nephew..kenangan so i simpan dan guna:)


We put up a wall mounted leave table,senang tak nak pakai tutup,nak pakai bukak:)


Ni model asam garam namanya,bekas bawang dari buluh dan rotan tu i beli dari lori jual barang2 rotan for RM70- dah beli bawak balik mula2 macam tak berkenan pulak,tapi practical senang nak ambik bawang..

This is part of my new wet kitchen look- semua benda tergantung di dinding:):) I think i ll get a new gas stove to replace this old one. Kat belakang ni i tak boleh bubuh stove yang canggih2 even gas stove yang glass tu pun tak boleh sebab Heni tak tau nak tutup betul2 nanti,dulu beli yang glass mesti bau gas sebab tak kena pulas habis.So kena pakai gas stove yang bunyi "ketennnng' bila putar knob dia ni.:);) Tak palah harga pun RM50 ajer,daha buruk kita tukar:)


I bought wire baskets from Ikea to store floor mats etc.


Ni storage place yang tak ada pintu lagi,kat atas dia luas jugak..i want to put some crawling plants kat atas ni nanti. And kalau dah siap nak lah jugak letak long bench at the back nanti Tia Mia boleh teman i masak,Uwan pun boleh duduk.Meja lama bulky sikit nak bergerak pun susah.


Itu lah cerita hari ahad,nothing much..duduk2 di rumah membuang kulit bawang,menyusun botol2 lama bubuh rempah,menukar alas meja dapur tapi terasa sangat seronok:);)



As usual mesti ada cerita masak sikit- hari sabtu i pun kueh orang lama tapi pakai gadget modern:)


First time i buat keh bakar ni atau pun Ghee Bombay,sebab pakai minyak sapi.Recipe i ambik dari Fauziah Samat punya blog (Kak jee).Sedap hasilnya.


Yang berminat,recipe nya- 1 mangkuk telur (guna mangkuk air basuh tangan zaman dulu kalau ada,tak ada guna lah apa mangkuk pun),1 mangkuk gula,3/4 tepung gandum,1 mangkuk santan,10 helai pandan blend ambik air ( guna 1/2 gelas air sahaja),bijan,dan minyak sapi utuk melenser tuang kueh.Blend/beat telur sampai kembang,masuk gula pukul lagi,masuk santan dan air pandan,i masuk kan jugak vanilla 2 sudu walaupun original tak ada,dah tu masuk tepung sikit2 and blend/whisk lagi hingga sebati.sapu minyak sapi pada tuang kueh,panaslan atas stove,masuk bahan tadi 3/4,tabur bijan,biar tepi2 garing sikit dan transfer dalam oven bakai sampai masak,dah masak i sapu minyak sapi lagi kat atas.


Wangi dan lembut.


This is my latest addiction- Lemon Basil (Daun kemagi)  i rasa sedap betul buat ulam:) and banyak jugak khasiat khabarnya boleh kurangkan berat badan you..jom tanam keliling rumah:)


This is my potted English Basil,the flavour is stronger than kemagi,tapi kalau kemagi dah habis boleh lah ratah ni.


Dah lama tak berimamkan Pashik,Alhamdulillah Maghrib tadi kita berimam kan Pashik:) Sian Tia Mia,habis jambul keluar,yang i jahit dulu dah terbukak:) nanti kena jahit lagi.

Cara Masak Asam Pedas (ikut selera my selera)

Lada kering potong kecik2 dan rebus sampai lembut,buang airnya,basuh sekurang-kurangnya 4 X dan semua biji keluar,blend dengan bawang merah besar,bawang putih 10 biji. Panaskan sesudu minyak,dan tumis bawang putih,merah,halia yang di hiris,masukkan sesudu makan/or 2 sudu makan cili mesin tadi,dan tumis sampai pecah minyak. Masukkan seinchi belacan,sebatang serai yang dah di ketuk,kacau lagi,masukkan ikan dan gaul rata,masukkan sedikit air cukup2 utk tutup ikan ajer,air tak boleh banyak,biar mendidih,masukkan tomato,bendi atau terung,biar mendidih,masukkan setengah cawan air asam jawa,biar mendidih lagi,kalau suka boleh masukkan daun kesum dan bunga kantan,tambah garam.biar lah sampai mendidih.Note : saya tak suka asam pedas pekat macam melaka style,mine tak banyak minyak,the kuah should be tak cair tak pekat,boleh hirup style:):) selamat mencuba.

wah knives pakai lekat magnet je.
i like that bekas bawang dari buluh dan rotan tu! washing machine kita sama lah.
mama memang berbakat menghias. ruang kecil tapi dengan perancangan dan kreativiti, dah berseri2 jadinya.
kueh bakar sedapnya! can imagine wangi dan lembutnya. nak sikit :D
nak belajar lah makan lemon basil..hehe kalau lah berjaya..
comelnya sejadah pun pink!

Salam Zu,
Mcm biasa tiap2 mlm mesti baca blog Zu dulu sampai kadang2 termimpi2 ..mungkin mlm ni mimpi wet kitchen Zu yg comel tu atau mimpi kuih bakar haha.. rasa cam pernah tengok lemon basil tu. Lain kali pegi sunday market nak carilah. Sedap ye buat ulam.. :)

salam azuuu...rinduuu nak komen...selalu jenguk ..never miss ur story..tapi asik tak sempat menyapa sebab hp problem...wahhh ur wet kitchen...bila dah naik simen camtu...nampak sangat spacious...sebab everything can be hang like that rite....

Salam.. Kak Zu, berseri2 dapur akak selepas make-over. Akak memang kreatif dan banyak idea.. Bakul rotan tu nampak cantik, first time nampak.. Wire basket tu berapa harganya kak? Berkenan pulak...

Kuih bakar tu memang kuih kegemaran orang N9 kan.. Kakak ipar selalu bawak bila balik kg.. Nanti nak cuba resepi asam pedas akak tu.. (tapi nak tanya bawang putih tu betul ke 10 biji.. atau campur bawang merah 5 biji + bawang putih 5 biji).. Tq sis sebab share resepi.. ♥♥

Cantiknya your wet kitchen. sejuk mata memandang. I suka tengok gaya you decorate making full use of the spaces available. But you do it so nicely, tak nampak cluttered.

Your wet kitchen sgt cantek! Saya pun tengah berfikir-fikir nak buat wet kitchen rumah di Malaysia tu sebab belakang dapur memang ada ruang sikit & jiran sebelah pun dia buat wet kitchen area tu. Tapi my concern is ruang tu sbnrnye laundry area, nanti berbau dapur pulak baju-baju yang dibasuh. Akak buat macamne?

saya memang mencari bakul buluh rotan yang u buat simpan bawang tu...sbb pernah tgk org letak bahan masak2 juga kat majalah Anjung Seri kalau seingat saya lah. Suka sgt dapur u tu...pandai hias..saya mmg suka dapur style macam ni..

Wah! Cantiknya wet kitchen u....suke..suke. Kalau akak ada wet kitchen macam tu, 24 hours masak pon takpe...haha.

Resepi kuih bakar u tu sama dengan resepi yang selalu akak buat...yang bezanya cuma akak guna butter untuk greasekan loyang...nanti nak cuba guna minyak sapi plak.

K.zue..meja lipat and wire basket kita samaaa.. From ikea kan..Kebetulan i pun reno my kitchen asing kan wet and dry..since sblm ni kalau nak masak sempit sgt smpi everytime nak masak kene pindah2 brg berdekatan first. Meja lipat i letak dkt dry kitchen konon2 nak buat breakfast counter. Lps dpt wet kitchen i dah selalu masak and motivated refer to ur recipes..rosemary chicken etc..and terpengaruh beli happycall pan and cereals dispenser haha..i just love3 ur idea k.zue..keep on sharing k
