Cooking @ Rue De Amat.

Pernah dengar lagu and rasa sedih for no reason tak?Masa i kecik banyak betul terpengaruh dengan lagu2 yang bukan zaman i:) The gap between my sister Maklang and brother Pashik are big, when i grew up our house were filled with their kinda songs:) maklang listened to DJ Dave,Hail Amir,David Cassidy while Pashik had Broery Marantika,Emilya Contessa, Boney M,Adba..in the end i listened to all those.And among all i can't find the answer why i feel sad when listening to Broery Marantika songs..especially the one with this lyric " Sepanjang jalan kenangan ku peluk diri mu mesra.."  ha ha i feel sedih:):)

Talking about teringat i want to share my groceries shopping and cooking at Rue de Amat,Geneva.Rue De Amat was the name of the road where our apartment was located.I am the type that really appreciate memories,so wherever i go i always have fond memories at that place.I cooked for 12 days at Rue de Amat,we walked to the local market,sat at their cafes,laughed at their parks..Alhamdulillah i have 3 special people that can share those memories with me..with them semua pun manis.

Seminggu berpuasa di Geneva dan sehari yang akhir di Paris sangat istimewa;) Walaupun panjang dari pukul 3.30am - 9.00pm tapi banyak yang boleh dibuat mengisi ruang2 menunggu berbuka;)

Antara menu ringkas di masak was chicken soup with ginger and whatever spices that i can find;);)

I managed to find kacang hijau..so buatlah kacang bubur kacang hijau;)

Sekarang tengok gambar macam rasa sedih berbuka puasa 4 beranak di dapur asing di negara orang..tapi masa tu tak lah sedih..kecuali bila teringat uwan..tapi tahu uwan okay rumah maklang:): I guess after meeting,walking and cooking i was too tired to be sad at that time;)

Ini lah routine berbuka sepanjang di geneva,the two will accompany us walaupun they tak puasa dan dah makan awal..they tak tahan nak tunggu pukul 9.00 after long bath in the bath tub they sure lapar terjerit-jerit;)

Ada hari yang i tak ada meeting pagi and we didn't feel like going far,we just walked to the lake to kill the time..ye lah dah tak boleh makan kan..we bought kebab from the halal shop packed for the girls and took it to the lake.

The girls were very good at entertaining themselves..semua pun boleh jadi fun for them;)

The water was really cold but they stilled want to be inside the water.

The two had a good time at Geneva lake.

Clean and clear water here.

Our apartment was behind those hotel rows and we had to walk like 10  or 15 mins to go back.

While they played me and hb just sat there and appreciate the time we have together.

Plus berangan-angan jugak:)

The wind was cold at the lake but that didn't stop the two from having fun.

Time is up and should make a move to go buy groceries now..nanti nak masak bukak puasa...sini tak ada pasar ramadhan tau;)

pack your thing and lets go to Migros.

Migros is one of the local supermarket in geneva, i bought canned food,milk butter etc from here.

They have keropok udang too..yang sama rasa macam kat sini..they were from Thailand.

Walaupun these two never kisah pun nak makan this type kat rumah tapi kat tempat orang pandai pulak suka makan benda yang remind us of our own country..familiar taste always nice if you are far from home.

Berjalan-jalan kat lorong Geneva tu i jumpa kedai thai..suka gila ler jumpa Mr Pohtai ni:)

mangga muda i beli kat kedai ceylonese infront of our apartment..tak masalah nak makan benda mesia kat sini kalau tahu nak cari mana..tak lah ada kat supermarket but ada kat kedai2 tertentu.

I beli kambas jugak...mahal pun mahal lah ..airflown from Thai ni;)

And i always love buying their button mushrooms here.

I bought homous dip..sedappp:)

macam2 lah yang i beli macam nak duduk setahun..parboiled rice ni however tak lah sedap sangat,,bagus for health pun yang penting tekak dulu:)

rasam powder pun beli..Brand "aachi' ni semua rempah dia sedap..hari tu cari kat Kl rupanya ada jual di TTDI punya pasar besar..ye lah semua indian and chinese kat pasar TTDI tu International:)

He he maruku and biscuit marie pun i jumpa.

Maruku from Kerala..kalau kat mesia tak heran pun ..kat sini RM23 pun beli lah jugak.

Harap2 neighbour tak lah pening bau sambal kita orang.

Gulai dengan ikan..kuah pekat2..wahh sangat sedap woo;)

Jumpa pulak ikan masin kat kedai ceylon tadi..apa lagi..lagi lah terangkat;)

Itu lah antara kenangan di rue de amat..terasa sedih jugak berpisah..macam lagu 'sepanjang jalan kenangan ku peluk diri mu mesra"..waaaaa sodih ingat broery pulak..he he

Okay lah thank you  pada yang berkunjung..kata2 yang baik..Thank You Yatie NZ..tak tau lah ada rezki nak ke NZ dan menjengok verandah belakang rumah you yang berlangit biru indah itu ;)

Alhamdulillah dengan segala kurniaan Allah...berada di tanah air sendiri satu nikmat tidak terhingga..walaupun seronok mencari pengalaman di tempat lain..tapi kasih sayang tetap tertumpah di sini..sebab apa?? sebab banyak petaiiiiii;);).Ta Ta Ti Ti Tu Tu:)

 Did  you ever wish to go somewhere not to do anything but to just sit by the beach,look at the ocean and gaze at the blue sky? I always have that feeling:):) Such a melancholic person i am.I love to smell the grass,the ocean,the garden... well these past few weeks the feeling is quite intense..since i can't go anywhere yet,i just share this entry first.

Let's go to Nyon,Switzerland, a town by the sea and situated on beautiful rocks and cliffs. Nyon is accessible by boat  from Geneva town,it will take you about 2 hrs to reach there and cost Euro 45 per adult and Euro 30 per child.

 

No matter how melancholic the feeling is but the food is always there:) Well this nasi goreng with telur mata was not made in Malaysia but it was cooked in Geneva,our morning breakfast before we depart to Nyon.

 

I used basmathi rice to make the nasi goreng,it had ikan bilis,green chillies inside.

 

And it was so nice to eat nasi goreng kampung with telur mata,fresh tomatoes,salad in the cold morning of Geneva.

The girls tak really fancy rice in the morning..they asked for noodles.I used maggie like noodles and made them simple clear soup.

 

Hmm i miss this small kitchen..we stayed there for 12 days surely a lot of memories to be remembered.

 

After the tummies were fulled..wallaaaaa..sudah transform..ha ha..to go to Nyon we need to go to the lake which is a 10 mins walk from our apartment.We need to check the schedule,buy the ticket from the kiosk there and wait for our boat.While doing that these the two girls pestered me to buy them sunglasses:) Dah tu tak nak yg kecik pulak ..nak yang beso ajer..pandai nak Jackie O tau:)

 

The lake is very beautiful..when we first came here were we like ahhh..ahhhhh..so cantik Geneva town yang facing the lake..they called it "The Lac"

 

Tia Mia always had fun feeding the ducks..they were tame too..if you feed them they will come out from the water to eat from your hands.

 

The available boat to Nyon was at 2.30pm so we had to eat our lunch first.We went to a Lebonase Cafe by the roadside to eat.

After we were done with our lunch we went to the lake again and waited for the boat on the grass.

 

The boat came,we boarded the boat and as usual we ordered drink and ice creams.

 

We reached Nyon at 4.30pm ,we took a petite train to take us around town and the girls had second round of ice creams on the petite train.

 

Nyon is fulled with history and this can be seen in the architecture.Dont expect to find fancy shop and branded items here, you need to love nature and history to appreciate the city.

 

We walked and walked and we found one children bookshop.Tia and Mia had  a good time there and the owner was super nice.I asked her to show us some colouring books so that the girls and can  have activities at Nyon beach and she showed me some.The girls however took the most expensive in the shop..it was a reproduction by French Artist..i had to pay RM200 plus for 2 colouring books..adoiii:);)

Since our intention was not to do sightseeing  we just went into one castle and see where  will it take us.

 

We came out at the balcony and the view was awesome!

 

Gorgeous fishscales roofing..how i wish i could  build a house using the this type of roofing, i love the attic windows and the chimneys too.

 

Without any map, direction or anything we just walk further and further until we found a gorgeous fruits and flowers's  garden on the hill facing the ocean.I have posted some of the fruits pictures in my previous entry under "Bumi Indah Ciptaan Allah".

 

After spending sometimes at the garden,we walked down the hill and reached the beach..ahhh it was so lovely..this is where i just want to sit and do nothing.

 

The girls took out their new books and started colouring.

 

We sat there until late evening, we looked at people cycling,walked their dogs,held hands etc.

 

We ate our sandwiches and drink our colas on the grass..the girls took out their shoes and just ran on the grass barefoot.

 

It was a lovely evening in Nyon..7pm and the sky was blue.

 

We moved closer to the water and the girl continued they activities.

While waiting for the last boat at 9.30 pm we had our dinner at the Asian restaurant, we had prawn crackers,steamfish and prawn tomyam:):)

 

After the good dinner we said goodbye to the beautiful Nyon.

 

and waited for our boat.

 

By bye Nyon..we left with loves in our hearts - The End!

 

Anyway walaupun colouring books tu mahal but the girls justified the investment-they' ve done a wonderful job:) This is Mia with her gorgeous castle.

I posted this on my fb and ada yang cakap "rimau pink?" he he children is very imaginative and creative..The Pink Panther were beyond their time but they came out with this;)

 

They have many pages to colour some more..they really spent times in colouring each pages, i didn't allow them to use magic colours as it will ruin the book so they use crayons only. And Tia being a 'bigger sister' is really mengikut perintah kalau dia nampak Mia nak guna magic colour menjerit boleh dengar satu rumah " Adikkkkkk don't use magic pen mama said you will ruin the book, it will have mark at the back!!!!!" he he..Love you both:):)

To LG thanks so much berkongsi tips and infos, lets go and check out the book in the store or we can google too:) sekarang banyak yang dah boleh beli online.Pada yang mintak nak kirim beli cereal dispenser tu i am so sorry..i tak jenis pergi post office pun..never post anything in my life..he he sebab tu my baju pun beli online:) i think you can google and  try to buy online..sometimes ada yang available. and pada yang bertanya ustazah tu i have to ask her first and dapat permission,dia quite tight right now and  rumah dia jauh dari KD,  she is like doing a favour for me sebab kenal kawan dia...if she is not available and pada yang bertanya , boleh lah google "Ustazah mengajar mengaji ke rumah Kota damansara"  i ve did this and many came out.

Pada kawan2 lain Ann Huzi gadis singapore..he he nur-nba, Mr Pilot suka nyanyi,suka CT,suka makan, Normah KD, Yatie New Zealand yang jauh ( cepat pi beli dispenser tu) azdra, Niza Noordin,Ada the bake,Sham gadis Seremban, 3E, salam pekenalan di sambut, kak kasih redha yang baru balik suka suka(bestnyerr) and sister susumanis... Ta Taaa.

I just want to sit on the grass and do nothing!

Thanks for visiting:) Not much story to tell or spicy things to gossip today, so i decided to answer some of your questions:)

 

To those asking about the new cereal dispenser in my kitchen, i bought from Iwannagohome at One Utama.It was priced at RM89.90 and available in two colours i.e red and white,the double one as in the above picture is cool too isn't it?

 

This bowl with separate milk and cereal section is cool too kan? I love the idea..kalau nak menyuap Tia Mia sementara nak menanti dia borak tu tak lah soggy the cereal;):) tapi ni tak tau nak beli mana:)

 

Huishh this one surely the boys will love it..you can shoot your hotdogs! But i think Tia Mia will enjoy it too:):)

 

This one is simple but very practical:) Shamsuhada..jom beli2 gadget;):) (by the way..Shamsinar yang nak pi Mekah bukan Rufa)

 

And to those yang suka tengok TV tak bergerak..tengok Nur Kasih lah,Adam dan Hawa lah dan macam2 lagi yang i sendiri tak tau..this is the gadget for you! Dok lah tengok Tv berapa lama pun tapi boleh kupas kentang sekilo,kopek pisang seguni..he he but pastikan jangan lah lama sangat kalau tak bangun nanti macam orang lepas bersunat...haaa haaa;):)

Before i forgot ; i bought my covered frying pan (the one i used to grill the lamb chops) online, it was priced at hundred over if i am not mistaken..just google happy pan;)

 

And yang mintak i share pasal fees nak panggil ustazah ngaji tu.Alhamdulillah i dapat panggil ustazah yang a friend kenal...takut jugak kalau first time dan tak kenal ustazah tu kan..sebab nak belajar ni biarlah kedua-dua pihak selesa.So terima kasih Gee,Alhamdulillah jauh dari rumah pun ustazah tu setuju datang..orang Kolo Pilah pulak asalnya lagi lah ese suka:) Bayaran dia sangat berpatutan RM40 sejam,tak kira lah berapa ramai pun.Rancangan saya adalah mula2 nak start weekend dulu,sejam dengan Tia Mia dan sejam with the mama:) ustazah ni pun mengajar menulis jawi jugak sebab dia cakap Iqrak kadang2 budak2 tak kenal huruf sebab bunyi macam aeiou ajer kan.

 

Ada jugak yang tanya macam mana nak bagi anak cepat membaca? Well Tia Mia pun tak lah cepat sangat membaca,biasa ajer,ada orang anak 3 tahun pun dah pandai.. but Alhamdulillah.I didn't pressure or really bermatian nak mengajar..sebab i pun bukan lah rajin sangat;) Cuma i sent to teacher yang  i trust, provide them with good foundation such as good books,good envoirenment and encouragement. I know some good parent really sit down with their kids and teach them flashcard etc etc..myself not that good..but i make sure i ll read book to them( if possible every night)..sambil baca sambil tunjuk perkataan tu..dah tu cerita lah kat dia orang betapa seronoknya kalau dapat membaca..i cakap dalam buku banyak magic..so many interesting things and if they can read they can 'travel' anywhere they like,they can go Paris,London including kampung batu Belah Batu Bertangkup!..nak tunggu mama papa bacakan not all the time i cakap.The biggest credit should go to Teacher Claire actually..yang penting jugak pilih buku yang betul..buku2 cerita yang menarik,kena keep up with the new age..walaupun cerita mcm cinderella,snow white to bagus but cerita2 yang mencabar dan menarik minda sangat berkesan. Like the book in the picture entitled " Upsy down town- it is really awesome, Tia Mia laughed with glitters in their eyes when they read : In upsy downtown, the sheeps sleep in the tree,the cows hang off the branches..".I and papa read to them once or twice after that they can read on their own already.And most important you have to compliment them always,when she said 'mama i ve read upsy downtown already" i said ' wahh Tia/Mia you are very good, i didn't know that you are that good..i am so happy darling..come sit next to me, you want to read to your mama now?"  ha ha macam tu ler...kena memuji memanjang ajo.

 

Ada jugak yang tanya macam mana i buat bee hoon singapore..my version i tumbuk,udang kering,bawang putih merah,few black and white pepper and sedikit halia..dah tu tumis sampai wangi,masuk bahan,masuk bee hoon..masuk telur..jadi ler:) ;)

 

Ishh puasa2 ni..sebut jer food terus teringat nak makan..hmmm nyaman kalau dapat telan mangga manis lemak merdu;) ehh nak cerita,semalam Tia Mia mama tanya makan apa kat school dia cakap "something 'summer'..i cakap apa yang something summer? they said ' i can't remember but teacher said something summer and it was rolled in cabbage,prawn,salad inside and mayonnaise to dip in" Ha ha gelak nak pengsan mama...SPRING ROLL rupanya...they tak ingat spring but ingat summer..haaa haa

 

A good new; There will be two new young and handsome chefs in my family soon! These two budak kembar (my cucu sedara) have enrolled in culinary institute;)  Syabas Hakim and Hanif Wansu sukaaa;);)

 

Asyik nak makan jer kan..camana nak kurus cam Kate ni..ishh Kate why your kaki so long??? pi urut suruh masseurs tarik kaki lima enam jam kat Thai Odyseyy pun tak jadi ni:):)

 

Whatever it is my true feeling these past few days is to stay at home,bake,tengok tv,buat gardening..it seems that i have to apply more leave..not to go anywhere but  just to stay at home..buat milo kat uwan petang2 and baring2 on the grass baca buku cerita kat Tia Mia. Ha ha i should be careful for what i wish kan..Si Heni kan nak balik bulan November ni for 1 week..well kisah sinetron yang mau membunuh diri itu berkesudahan dengan penikahan pada 25 November ini..so i kena lah ambik cuti seminggu duduk rumah..hmm this time i will enjoy every minutes of it..I promise i will not get upset with any mess..i will not turn into werewolf when i see papers everywhere..hee hee...
